Schedule
Dear Volunteers,
Below is a listing of those
individuals who have offered to do seminars for our event. If you would like
to step-forward and share you knowledge and/or skills we would be glad to add
you to our list. Our Seminar Coordinator is Ms. Ruth Py and she can be

Ruth and her Husband spend considerable time on the Rendezvous circuit, if you

In an attempt to offer some very special and unique
activities as part of our event the Staff of the 2010-Midwest Rendezvous has devised
the following activities for our participants:
1. Flag of the Day Contest:
This event is open to all Rendezvous Youth under the age
of 14. Each day a different Historical Flag will be posted in the
Council Circle from our country's past of some special significance. The
first youth who is able to tell our event Booshway (Father Thomas) the
significance of that Flag and is
willing to tell this to the rest of the camp at that evening's Camp Meeting
will receive the prize of a $5.00 Booshway token. The Flag will be change
each day of the Rendezvous and all flags will have had some historical
significance to the history of our country.
2. Tours of the Ontonagon (Historical) Lighthouse:
Tours of the lighthouse will be arranged with the cooperation
of the Ontonagon Historical Society. A tour bus will pick those
individuals interested in taking the tour at our Front-gate and return you
there at the conclusion of the tour. (Tours take about 2hrs. and there is a fee
of $5.00 per person) A maximum of 14 persons will be scheduled for each
tour, however, if there is not a minimum of 7 person's going the tour maybe
canceled. Sign-up for all tours will be at the Headquarters Tent and
should be done a day in advance. It is planned that two tours a day
will be offered (10:00Am & 2:00Pm), and will be scheduled for Monday,
Wednesday and Friday (August 2nd, 4th, & 6th). If you have any
questions please bring them up at the Headquarters Tent when you sign-up.
3. A Sun-Set Trip to the Shores of Lake Superior:
A Lake Superior Shore trip will be arranged for all
individuals wishing to explore the shoreline of Lake Superior while watching
the sun-set over the Lake. This tour is open to all individuals, however, children
must be accompanied by an Adult. Don't miss this opportunity to go
wading in Lake Superior, to do a little beach scavenging, or simply to watch
the beauty of the Sun-Set. Participants will be picked-up at our
Front-gate and returned their at the conclusion of the trip. A
small fee of $1.00 will be charged for each Adult (to help cover our busing
expenses) while children under 14 will travel free. The bus will leave
our front-gate about 7:45Pm and should return by about 9:30Pm.
(Water-wear clothing would be recommended.) This trip is tentatively
scheduled for Tuesday (Aug. 3rd) weather permitting, but could be rescheduled
for Thursday
(Aug 5th) if conditions require. Sign-up will be at the Headquarters Tent
and should be done a day in advance - if you have any questions please bring them
up at Headquarters when you sign-up.
4. A Visit to the Porcupine Mountain State Park Visitor's Center:
A tour to the Porcupine State Park Visitor Center will be
arranged for those participants who would be interested in learning more about
our neighboring State Park. A 10-15 minute video of the park will be
shown along with your ability view a 16' X 16' Scale Model of the park
complete with small lights that light-up when you push the appropriate buttons.
Participants will also be allowed time to peruse the Park's gift shop for
those wishing to purchase souvenir's. This tour has been scheduled for
Monday at 1:00Pm and the bus will pick you up at our Front-Gate and
return you there at the conclusion of the trip. (Return time being about 2:30Pm).
A small fee of $1.00 will be charged for all Adults (to help cover our
Busing costs) with children under the age of 14 traveling free. Sign-up
will be at the Headquarters Tent and should be done a day in advance - if you
have any questions please bring them up at Headquarters when you sign-up.
